3.6. Deleting Content

There are three ways to delete content:

3.6.1. Delete While Viewing Content

  1. Navigate to the content by using links or menus provided by the site.
  2. Click Edit in the Perforce Chronicle toolbar to begin editing.
  3. Click the Delete button in the toolbar.
    A delete confirmation dialog appears.
Here you can optionally provide a comment that appears in the version history for the deleted entry. Chronicle uses a default comment if you do not provide one.
  4. Click the Delete button in the dialog to complete the deletion of the content. Your content is now deleted from the web site.

3.6.2. Delete Single Entry

  1. Click Content in the Chronicle toolbar.

The Manage Content screen is displayed.
  2. Scroll through the available content to locate the content entry you wish to delete.
  3. Click the button in the Actions column in the row containing the content entry you wish to delete.
  4. Select the Delete option in the popup menu.
    The Delete Content dialog appears.
Here you can optionally provide a comment that appears in the version history for the deleted entry. Chronicle uses a default comment if you do not provide one.
  5. Click the Delete button in the dialog. Chronicle deletes the entry.

3.6.3. Delete Multiple Entries

  1. Click Content in the Chronicle toolbar.

    The Manage Content screen appears:
  2. Select the entries you wish to delete:
[Note] Do Not Click the Entry's Title

When selecting one or more entries, click on the row, but not the entry's title.

    • To select a single entry, click on the row.
    • To add entry into the selection, use CTRL+Left-click (Command+Left-click on Mac) on the desired entry's row.
    • To remove entry from the selection, use CTRL+Left-click (Command+Left-click on Mac) on the not-desired entry's row.
    • You can also select a range of entries by selecting the first entry in the range and then holding a Shift key and clicking on the row of the last entry.
The number of selected entries is shown in the grid footer beside the indicator of the total number of entries.
  3. Click the Delete button in the grid footer; this button is activated when one or more entries are selected. The Delete Content dialog is displayed.
Here you can optionally provide a comment that appears in the version history for every deleted entry. Chronicle uses a default comment if you do not provide one.
  4. Click the Delete button in the dialog. Chronicle deletes all selected content entries at once.

Should a problem occurs during deletion, for example if you do not have sufficient permissions to delete an entry, a notification appears and all deletions are reverted. You can then deselect the entries that could not be deleted and try the deletion again.

[Note] Don't Worry!

Chronicle remembers all your changes, including deletions. If you wish to re-instate deleted content, please see Section 3.7, “Viewing the History of Web Site Content”.
